Only 45 minutes of your life.
Please - don't tell me you can't spare 45 minutes to watch this documentary...
A chronicle of our family's transition to an off-grid, more self-sufficient and eco-friendlier lifestyle, sharing, wherever possible, helpful links and ideas, in order to ease anyone else's journey along this path
We have a strange channel on the satellite tv system and it shows documentaries like this. I am pretty sure this was on it last week.
ReplyDeleteHarry - Did you watch it?
DeleteTerrifying and inspiring all at once.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I go to the beach, I do a two minute beach clean. It's literally a drop in the ocean, but it might make a difference to the one sea creature that escapes entanglement or ingestion that day.
Aurora - Welcome - and thank you for taking the time to leave a comment.
DeleteAurora, good for you! Too often we think that litter is someone else's problem, but if every one of the 7 billion-odd people on this planet took the time to spend just two minutes picking up litter, we surely wouldn't have a problem with it getting into our oceans. Every little bit helps... :)
Oh Dani, it makes you want to weep doesnt it.
ReplyDeleteSol - It does - deep, shuddering tears... How can man be so thoughtless, wasteful and selfish?
DeleteLast week, a whale of 2.5 mtrs washed ashore a Norwegian Island. The animal lost so much weight and was in so much pain, that decided to help this animal out of his misery. When they did an autopsy afterwards, they found over more than 30 plastic bags in its stomach. The biggest piece of plastic was 2.5 mtrs. big. This was the reason the animal was in so much suffering.
ReplyDeleteThis news was published in the Dutch newspapers last week. It is really heartbreaking and f* unbelievable that we treat our beautifull planet and all her inhabitants like this.
By the way Dani, how are your alpaca's doing ? I really love them.
DeleteLEF - Couldn't agree more. The uncaring behaviour of some on this planet is criminal 😡
DeleteThanks for the share. This is the worst video I've seen about plastic in the oceans, and my wife and I have watched several.
ReplyDeleteMarlin - Meaning the worst produced video, or that the detail / finding is horrific? Hopefully, you're agreeing that we have a massive plastic pollution on this planet...
DeleteSorry..should have been more specific. Most horrific.
DeleteWe've watched several that have shown how bad the oceans have been polluted, but none this bad.
Marlin - Teasing you 😉 - I know you're as concerned about this planet and it's pollution as I am.
