"Self-sufficiency does not mean 'going back' to the acceptance of a lower standard of living. On the contrary, it is the striving for a higher standard of living, for food that is organically grown and good, for the good life in pleasant surroundings... and for the satisfaction that comes from doing difficult and intricate jobs well and successfully." John Seymour ~ Self Sufficiency 2003

Feedburner issues?

I had noticed a while ago that I was getting a lot of e-mail followers with the email address ending in outlook.com  The names of the people were strange also.
Then, Blogger stats were showing a surprising number of hits from Russia.

So, I removed the stranfge addresses and the option to follow by e-mail for a while.  When I reinstalled the gadget, the problem remained.
And now I see Russia / Rumania happening on Bloglovin too...
Does anyone see ads on my blog?  Does anyone see porn on my blog???  There shouldn't be any of either 😠

Please - let me know.  I don't like this at all!  And I need to know how to stop this / prevent this.  Do I remove "Follow with Bloglovin" or "Follow by e-mail"?  Will it help?  Anyone...?

  3. No ads from my perch, but I do have adblock installed. Not sure about the thing from Russia, others have noticed and complained about that as well. This is what I found at the blogger help forum about it.

"Why so many Russian visitors to my blog?"

"The visits and statistics you are referring to are known as referral spam. In this case, please do not click on any suspicious link. That's the only way to make referrer spam stop. Be assured, this does not affect your blog in any way and is a known issue."

I think they're visiting in hopes you'll notice and click their link. Similar to the links people leave in the comments.

Anyway, glad you're still blogging! But do it because you enjoy it - please don't burn out!

    1. Leigh - Thank you.

There are no links to click (apart from in the stats -> traffic sources and I never click on those.

I just worry that possibly - somehow - there is a porn link hidden on my blog. Somehow.

Yeah, I will blog when I am able - and when I have something to share that I think will interest everyone ;)

  5. Looks fine to me. No adds, everything normal. Someone else just did a post about having a similar problem. I'll see if I can remember where I saw it.

    1. Harry - thanks. Was it me - I contacted you once before via e-mail? Whatever, as long as there are no ads, and no "visible" porn links I'm happy. Hidden links I can do nada about... :!

Thank you for taking the time to comment - it makes my day and removes the "loneliness' of sitting at my screen blogging supposedly to myself ;) I try and reply as quickly as possible so please forgive me if sometimes my response is delayed.
