"Self-sufficiency does not mean 'going back' to the acceptance of a lower standard of living. On the contrary, it is the striving for a higher standard of living, for food that is organically grown and good, for the good life in pleasant surroundings... and for the satisfaction that comes from doing difficult and intricate jobs well and successfully." Thought for Thursday - 5

Here are some more wise words from TUT:

We're given a priceless gift everytime we have an
amazing sunrise or sunset.
The pic above was the sunset on a crisp
winter's evening this last July

"A Public Service Announcement from the Universe:

Be on guard against those who help others in the name of sacrifice, selflessness, or altruism, instead of in the name of joy. Because usually, they don't really help all that much.

Sad is the life, that gives without realizing how much, in turn, it receives."

  1. Gorgeous sunset!

I'm usually tired of the day by sunset, but gotta say--I've NEVER missed a sunrise.

    1. Thanks Sue - Crispy sunrises, and mellow sunsets - they're my thing LOL Having lived from 1994 - 2013 in a village surrounded by mountains so that I never saw a sunrise or sunset, I feel priviledged to be able to see them now. Can't get enough, in fact... LOL

  4. You do have some spectacular sunsets. I don't get to see many here unless I climb up the mountain a ways, because the peaks block off the sun in the evening long before sunset.

Yeah, we had that probem when we lived in town - that's why I soooo enjoy being able to see them now.

  5. Amazing sunset, Dani ...and all the rain! When we were visiting our plot (Kruisbessie) this time last year, the waterfalls in the mountains were also pumping.

Thank you for taking the time to comment - it makes my day and removes the "loneliness' of sitting at my screen blogging supposedly to myself ;) I try and reply as quickly as possible so please forgive me if sometimes my response is delayed.
