Rosie days

I have been severely restricted with my blogging this weekend due to 4 cold fronts which passed over us and which effected our solar power generation.  Solar power battery storage is first, and foremost, for the fridge, then charging cell phones, then the lights, and then, lastly, TV / blogging.

I have to share the beauty that the cold left behind...

The view from our bedroom - having our first cup of
rooibos tea or coffee, whilst lying in bed, with
Rosie lit in the kitchen - heaven. We are blessed.
My Nordica Rosa has been named - Rosie :)  Well, it's only fitting to name a very good friend.  Why is she such a good friend - well, the resulting cold and snow has meant that Rosie has been lit from 7.30a.m. in the morning, until we go to bed at 9.30 - 10p.m. giving us a perfectly toasty house to pad around in, whilst gale force winds, a small (17mm) amount of rain, and snow fell without.

What a treasure she is turning out to be... :)

Now, can anyone help me with RMan?  He is permanently hovering over the stove - checking that it has enough wood or that the draught vent isn't too open, or too closed.  Not easy to cook under those circumstances, and he's driving me crazy.

Reckon he needs a toy too - but, you'll have to wait a bit longer for info on that... :)

  1. Dani - i am glad that the stove has a name. our hottub, tho it be an inanimate object, also has a name. i call it baby. it is my baby. kind of like your stove. i am very much like RMan - i walk around the house turning up and down the heat hourly. actually, it is probably more like every-half-hourly. i wake up several times a night to turn the heat up and down. i guess me and RMan are what some might call "a little cuckoo". teehee. the pics of your mountains are beautiful!

    your friend,
    kymber

  3. Wow - what beautiful views to wake up to. A stove like yours would have been just the thing for us after going through the longest winter ever. Hot and toasty sounds good.

    1. elaine - Welcome, and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. Know all about cold winters, for even though we live in sunny South Africa, our houses are built for the summer, and insulation is not high on the priorty here. Now having double glazing and an excellent wood burning stove we are better equipped than most - and very grateful we are too :)

Thank you for taking the time to comment - it makes my day and removes the "loneliness' of sitting at my screen blogging supposedly to myself ;) I try and reply as quickly as possible so please forgive me if sometimes my response is delayed.
