"Self-sufficiency does not mean 'going back' to the acceptance of a lower standard of living. On the contrary, it is the striving for a higher standard of living, for food that is organically grown and good, for the good life in pleasant surroundings... and for the satisfaction that comes from doing difficult and intricate jobs well and successfully." Orange rain

There is so much I want to share with you - but I need time to gather my thoughts and do it logically.

So for now - here are two photographs of a stunning sunset on our second last night on the farm...

Facing west towards the sunset - the orange / red / pink rain
is falling in the left half of the photo - I never knew that rain could take
on the colours of the sunset.
I was spinning on my heels constantly - the sunset was happening both in the east and the west simultaneously - I couldn't decide which one to focus on

Facing east towards my favourite little valley.
What a gift from nature - watching this happen I felt blessed, uplifted and at peace with the world.

  1. It is amazing the the east can be just as beautiful at sunset .. great pics .. glad you focused on both :) Our home faces east .. so we get to view the opposing mountains tinged with orange on the snow from time to time.

Thank you for taking the time to comment - it makes my day and removes the "loneliness' of sitting at my screen blogging supposedly to myself ;) I try and reply as quickly as possible so please forgive me if sometimes my response is delayed.
